What’s Stopping Us Stopping Climate Change 2.0: Transforming Surrey into a Home of Thriving People and Nature

Wednesday, 12 June, 2024 - 10:00 to 16:00
University Hall, University of Surrey, Guildford, GU2 7XH

Calling representatives of all Residents, Communities and Businesses in Surrey! Let's create a truly sustainable Surrey together.

Following on from the very successful event in September 2023 (see here for the highlights and full videos), the Surrey Climate Commission and the Institute for Sustainability at the University of Surrey, in partnership with Zero Carbon Guilford, are hosting a participatory workshop to understand how to transform Surrey into a thriving place, while respecting the wellbeing of all people, and the health of the whole planet.

Using a tried and tested approach and materials developed by the renowned Doughnut Economics Action Lab, we will collectively imagine what a truly sustainable Surrey looks like and what new governance initiatives could be introduced to help us get there. DEAL framework ensures holistic and cross cutting approach to various elements of sustainability like human health and prosperity, social equality, economy, climate and nature and more.
